About SmartCited
What SmartCited does
More buyers now ask an AI assistant for a recommendation, like “best plumber in Austin”, instead of scrolling a page of links. The assistant names two or three businesses and stops. SmartCited, at smartcited.com, shows a business whether it is one of those names.
- Unbranded questions. SmartCited asks ten questions a real customer would type, without the business’s name in them, so a mention is earned rather than prompted.
- Two engines, side by side. Each scan asks ChatGPT and Gemini the same questions (DeepSeek can be swapped in) and keeps every answer.
- The sources behind the answer. Every report lists the web pages the engines read before they decided: usually the business’s own website, its Yelp page and one or two directories.
- A plan, then a re-check. SmartCited turns that evidence into a short list of fixes, runs a technical check of what the site serves to AI crawlers, and re-scans so you can see what changed.
Who it is for
Local and small businesses, and the agencies that work for them. Reports are written in plain English. The first two scans are free with no credit card; SmartCited Pro is $49.99 a month and re-scans one tracked business every day.
What we don’t do
Every answer in a report is asked live. Nothing is simulated or made up. AI answers vary from day to day, so SmartCited reports trends and evidence, not guaranteed placements.
The name
SmartCited is written as one word, with a capital C, and lives at smartcited.com. It is not related to SmartCite, the citation add-in for academic papers.
